Keeping up with the Joneses...er, Burdetts

Rats!  I've finally had to upgrade our wordpress blog to the latest version, which was NOT easy to do!!  The new blog is available at jeffandjessa.com/blog2

Let's give it a try! I've always wanted to have a blog that had lots of pictures, plus the ability to track comments and search. I'm taking a stab at figuring out how to use WordPress to manage the blog part of the website....so check it out and leave a comment!

Updates:

March 3rd, 2007: I finally got Dreamweaver installed on the new laptop, so let the blogging begin! There is only one week left until the end of my glorious maternity leave, and I'm dreading that terrible day (March 12, my 33rd birthday) when I'll have to hand over my little Sammy and head back to work.

December 20, 2006: Sammy's Birth Story; the play by play on the new Pregnancy and Birth Story Index Page

Check out Bailey's, uh, the Family Blog....

He's Here!

Sammy is a smiling fool!

In those early days after getting home from the hospital, I sat Sammy on my lap with a camera. His little face would go through a parade of emotions, changing expressions every 10 seconds or so. He would appear terribly sad, then confused, then happy, then peaceful, then worried....it was hilarious. Even though the previous night had been really hard, his little fleeting smile erased all the the tiredness. Jeff claims that Sammy is "just a brainstem right now" and when I ask Jeff to speculate on what Sammy might be thinking, Jeff makes that sound of radio static. Jeff attributes all of Sammy's smiles as reactions to the movement of air through his food processing tubing. I prefer the less clinical take offered by the pediatrician: Sammy's smiles stem from feelings of contentment. Somehow, though, I hope that the terrible grimaces aren't similarly from apparently unbearable pain!
